This event is a fun training event aimed at beginner and more experienced triathletes wanting to try a triathlon in a relaxed training setting.
It is a great opportunity to bring together the SWIM, BIKE, and RUN in one event and to practice the transition between each discipline in a friendly supported environment. There will be 2 options available on the day:
- 100m swim/ 16km cycle/ 3.3km run
- 250m swim/ 16km cycle/ 3.3km run
- 750m swim/ 16km cycle/ 3.3km run (New for 2024)
This event is open to anyone over 18, and you don't need to be a member of a Triathlon club. No special equipment is required, but you will need a roadworthy bike and a helmet to take part. A bike check will take part on the day, so please remember to pump your bike tyres and check your brakes are working.
This will also facilitate the Longford Triathlon Club's ZERO-2-TRI entrants in partnership with the Longford Sports Partnership. Other Triathlon Club and Non-Club members are more than welcome to take part.
Timing will be the responsibility of participants as this is a training event.
Refreshments will be provided afterwards.
SWIM: This will take place in the Longford Coral Sports Complex and will be a pool swim consisting of either 4 or 10 lengths depending on which event you signed up for.

Head on the N4 for a short bit before turning left towards Cullyfad. Follow the road and keep going straight into Cullyfad. Marshals will be along the road. In Cullyfad, head past the Church and take the left turn. A bit of a slow climb here, keep on this road going straight. Grass in center of road, but surface is good. Once over the small hill – Enjoy the view! Continue heading straight travelling downhill before turning left. Watch traffic from the right here. Continue straight before turning left again onto the Ballinalee road (Longford on Signpost). Again, continue straight before turning left for Longford. At the end of this road is a small roundabout, take the second exist of this heading back towards Longford. Road works will be on this road, but road will be clear for the bank holiday. Continue on this road till you intersect with the N4 roundabout. Take the 2nd exit here and obey any instructions from Garda members. Continue straight before turning right back towards the Mall passing Templemichael. Turn Right into the Mall to finish.
